During the first visit, the dentist will examine your mouth and take x-rays to assess whether you are suitable for implants. A treatment plan is drawn up based on the health of your jawbone and the location of the missing tooth/teeth.
Normally the anesthesia is administered by injection. But for people with needle phobia, for example, it is possible to first fall asleep with an inhalation mask. We use Sevoflurane (not laughing gas) for this. After putting you to sleep, we switch to TIVA without you noticing.
Sometimes it is necessary to remove teeth to make room for the implants. This process is also performed under general anesthesia, so you will not experience any pain or discomfort.
This is the stage where your jawbone grows around the implant and fuses with it, securing it firmly. This process can take several months.
After osseointegration is complete, an impression is made and an abutment (a small connecting piece) is screwed onto the implant. This forms the basis for the final crown, bridge or prosthesis.
Finally, a custom-made crown, bridge or prosthesis is placed on the abutment, restoring both the aesthetics and function of the missing tooth/teeth.
Full anesthesia is a method in which you are put to sleep completely during the treatment. This is done under the supervision of an experienced anesthetist. Unlike local anesthesia and sedation, where you retain some degree of consciousness, with full anesthesia you will not notice the procedure at all.

Recovery can vary from person to person, but usually takes several weeks to months. During this period, the implant fuses with the jawbone and the gums recover. We ask you to come by regularly for an interim check to monitor the recovery.
The costs consist of two parts: the costs for the treatment and the costs for the anesthesia. The costs may vary, depending on, for example, the duration of the treatment and the number of implants that need to be placed. During the consultation you will receive a clear overview of the costs.
