We understand very well that a dental appointment can be stressful, especially when it involves an extensive treatment. We do not judge and offer support with general anaesthesia. While you are asleep, we take care of your teeth without you feeling or noticing anything. For many patients, this is an ideal solution. But how much does a treatment under general anaesthesia at the dentist cost? And are these costs reimbursed? We are happy to explain.

General anaesthesia treatment fees
For treatments performed under general anaesthesia, you pay the same (nationally set) fees as for regular dental care. For the anaesthesia itself, there is a separate fee. We apply a starting fee of €350. After that, we charge €195 per 30 minutes of anaesthesia. In your personal treatment plan, we will clearly discuss the costs with you in advance.
Dental care fees
Every year, dental fees are set nationally. This means that every dentist applies the same rates for a treatment.
During a treatment under general anaesthesia, a full team is there for you: not only the dentist and dental assistant, but also an experienced anaesthesiologist and an anaesthesia assistant who carefully monitor you throughout the entire procedure. In addition, the anaesthesia medication, sterile materials (disposables), and the use of professional monitoring equipment are included. Everything is aimed at giving you a safe, relaxed, and as comfortable as possible experience.
A treatment under general anaesthesia consists of two parts: the dental treatment and the anaesthesia.
Some treatments are reimbursed under the basic insurance, while for other treatments you need supplementary insurance to receive reimbursement. In most cases, part of the costs is reimbursed up to a maximum amount per year.

Please note: Treatments under general anaesthesia are not handled by Infomedics. The costs for anaesthesia must be paid in advance. The dental treatment costs must be paid immediately after the treatment.

At your first consultation, we will explain exactly how a treatment under general anaesthesia works and together we will create a personal treatment plan. To prepare this treatment plan, we only need an X-ray. Apart from a small mirror, no instruments will be used during this consultation.
